LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Heralded each year as the strongest field in professional golf, the PGA Championship is a showcase of the best players in the world. This year, 156 players will tee it up at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville in pursuit of the Wanamaker Trophy.
Among the field this year are 16 past PGA champions, 17 additional major champions, 21 PGA club professionals and a who's who of young stars on the PGA Tour.
The full field (as of May 9) is displayed below, including players’ ranking and some of their career accomplishments. The rankings come from Data Golf, a leading analytics website that ranks the top 500 professional golfers in the world using normalized data across all worldwide tournaments, particularly PGA Tour and LIV Golf events.
The PGA of America is holding two spots open pending the results of the Wells Fargo Championship and Myrtle Beach Classic, which are both being held this weekend.
