As part of a new economic stimulus program, county commissioners are paying small businesses to pack meals for seniors citizens and members of the county's the homeless population.Â
The meals are distributed to Hope Southern Indiana, the Salvation Army and Catalyst Rescue Mission — a southern Indiana homeless shelter that serves hundreds of displaced Floyd County residents.
Owners of food service, retail, salon or spa businesses operated in Clark or Floyd counties can apply. Home-based businesses are excluded.
The city of Jeffersonville has partnered with One Southern Indiana to create a $250,000 loan fund called "Jeffersonville Sustains."
