The shooting was reported around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Dr. WJ Hodge and Chestnut Street.
Neighbors in the Russell neighborhood are coming together and asking for help to protect children in the area.
16-year-old Tyree Smith was one three JCPS students shot as they wait for their school bus Wednesday morning. Smith died from his injuries.
