LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville is celebrating its 100th year in Louisville with a huge celebration.
The iconic hotel is hosting a Roaring '20s themed gala in honor of the first time it opened its doors back in October 1923.
Marc Salmon, the Brown Hotel's in-house historian and human resources manager, joined WDRB Mornings on Tuesday for a preview of what to expect.
"When we opened in 1923, we had a grand gala the first night and we're sort of duplicating that tomorrow night," Salmon said. "We're going to have an incredible night, a four-course dinner. It's going to be led off with the Churchill Downs bugler with a call to post. We're going to have a champagne toast."

The sold out gala will be held in the Crystal Ballroom.
Guests are invited to dress up and enjoy a night of food, dancing, prizes and more in the hotel's crystal ballroom.
The gala starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday and continues until 10 p.m. Tickets for the event are sold out, but Salmon said people who want to be part of the celebration can still take part.
"Come see us," he said. "Come for dinner in our lobby bar, listen to our live piano music, have one of our signature cocktails, have our world-famous Hot Brown."
