LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Southwest Jefferson County is gearing up for its annual festival this weekend.
Southwest Community Festival President Eddie Squires and Lori Bischoff, director of business development at UofL Health Mary & Elizabeth, joined WDRB Mornings on Wednesday to talk about all the things to do at what is now known as southwest Jefferson County's largest festival.
"We have an amazing Kids City," Squires said. "It is like the largest that you'll ever go to. We have Teen Town. We have a large craft area for the booths. We have a car show. We have entertainment all day long. It's from 10 to 6. We have four bands playing, so it's going to be an amazing event.
UofL Mary and Elizabeth Hospital is the corporate sponsor for the event.
"We're just thrilled," Bischoff said. "We're going to be there all day, from 10 to 6, as well. Our academic family medicine team is going to be out there doing flu shots, vaccinations, screenings, and we'll be out there in our red and black."
The festival will be held at Sun Valley Park, located at 6616 Ashby Lane. Everything is free except for the food.
All proceeds from the car show go to charity. Last year, the car show generated more than $2,500 that was donated to Norton Children's Hospital.
