LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Grease the Musical is a timeless classic with lots of great songs.

WDRB's Keith Kaiser gets in the middle of all the action at YPAS.

Youth Performing Arts School takes on the story and iconic characters.

The original stage production was performed in Chicago in 1971 and it became successful on both stage and screen in 1978.

Grease is a musical with music, lyrics, and a book by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

The musical is named after the 1950s U.S. working-class youth subculture, known as greasers.

It is set in 1959 at the fictional Rydell High School in Northwest Chicago named after rock singer Bobby Rydell.

The musical follows ten working-class teenagers as they navigate the complexities of peer pressure, politics, personal core values, and love.
