Storms on Oaks caused an interruption for an hour or so, but rain on Derby could be downright annoying. Rain appears like a really good bet for the first post at 11 am. That rain will be steady, perhaps even becoming heavy at times during the early afternoon. Don't lose hope. After 5 pm, there is a chance that rain becomes much lighter or showers even taper off for a couple hours later on meaning it could be dry for the 151st Run for the Roses at 6:57 pm. Additional downpours pivot back in shortly after for those going to any Derby parties. Either way, a poncho may not cut it and rain gear is highly recommended if you plan on going to Churchill Downs. You may want to consider those mudders and I really hope no matter what the circumstances, you have a great time at the Derby!
