No surprise here. Moderate drought swallowed up a vast majority of our area including Louisville. The channel of abnomrally dry conditions that extends from Seymour to Hardinsburg is where strorms hit Saturday night. As you can see, severe drought is getting very close so rain is much needed. The lack of rain has also allowed the heat to build and it's been a dry, hot, but not humid stretch here in the Ohio Valley.

There is some hope to not solve, but halt or possibly improve the drought early next week. Low pressure will drag in mositure from what was Tropical Storm Mario. As we get more Pacific and Gulf moisture together along with a blocking pattern, that could mean daily storm chances. Both the GFS and EURO show on average about 1" of rain. Thunderstorms could certainly pump these numbers up, but we would rather underpromsie given the situation.
