The rain that's been hanging around most the day is part of a weather system that will drop temperatures heading into the weekend. After a few quiet days, we'll do this all over again leading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Every little bit helps, but this will not be enough rain to improve drought conditions in our area.

From this point on, the rain thins and ends. We won't see rain ramp up or become more widespread tonight, though you should expect another batch of showers along the cold front as it moves through after dark.

This rain is coming to us as part of a cold front, which acts like a wall separating two different kinds of air. Friday we were on the warm side of that wall, but Saturday we will be on the cold side. Low temperatures Saturday morning will be in the 30s for most of us.

Next week another low pressure center and cold front swing through that will bring more rain and drop your temperatures even lower. You can click here to see the 7-day forecast, and watch our forecasts on TV, on WDRB.com, and streaming in our app, WDRB+, for more specifics on that next rain chance and temperature drop. We will post more about it here on the blog, too, as it gets closer.
