The incident happened during a traffic stop in West Baden, at the intersection of US-150 and Indiana State Road 56.
Indiana State Police identified the Orange County Sheriff's Deputy that was shot Friday morning.
Police said Saturday that Schepers shot Andry four times and left him lying in the roadway.
