LOUISIVLLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Music filled the air at an east Louisville Baptist church Sunday.
Green Castle Baptist Church on Murphy Lane in eastern Jefferson County held its second annual Jazz on the Green.
Sunday's performance kicked off the first full family week of live entertainment with the Unlimited Show Band, local food trucks, and children activities.
After the church service, more than a thousand people gathered on the lawn that transformed into a performance area for the entire community.
Guests brought chairs while enjoying the music with a message.
"Basically, we have this green space - why don't we have Jazz on the Green after service, and so people get the word in the morning and be able to relax all the way throughout the afternoon," Darien Waite, Senior Pastor at Green Castle, said.
The church plans on holding another jazz on the green next year.
