LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A person died after being hit by a truck near Iroquois Park early Sunday morning.

Aaron Ellis, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to a report of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle at Palatka Road and Manslick Road at 3:20 a.m.

Police said a man driving a pickup truck was headed north on St. Andrews Church Road and as he entered the intersection where it becomes Palatka and Manslick, he hit a pedestrian.

According to police, the pedestrian was wearing all dark clothing and disregarded the crosswalk when attempting to walk across Manslick Road westbound.

The driver remained at the scene until first responders arrived. Police said the pedestrian died at the scene.
