LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Indiana Gov. Mike Braun declared a state of emergency as a major winter storm is expected to dump inches of snow and ice.Â
In a X post on Saturday, Braun said his request for a state of emergency declaration was approved by President Donald Trump. Braun said the declaration "is necessary to address ongoing and future response efforts."
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency Friday.Â
Indiana and Kentucky are among eight states who President Trump approved state of emergency for.Â

An emergency response declaration is necessary to address ongoing and future response efforts to this dangerous storm and to protect Hoosiers’ lives as conditions worsen.
