LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana man will spend 40 years in prison after being sentenced in two child molestation cases dating back to 2024.

Michael Allen Richardson of Hardinsburg was sentenced Wednesday in Washington County, Indiana.

Richardson was sentenced to 40 years on each child molestation charge, according to court records. The sentences will run concurrently, meaning he will serve 40 years total.

The two cases stem from separate Indiana State Police investigations in 2024.

Richardson was first arrested in May after police said he had illegal sexual contact with a child. That investigation began after a Harrison County school employee reported suspected child sexual abuse to the Indiana Department of Child Services.

He was arrested again in July of that year after a separate investigation involving allegations of illegal sexual contact with a child.

Richardson was charged with child molestation, child exploitation and other charges between the two cases.

His remaining charges were dismissed during a change-of-plea hearing.
