LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A southern Indiana man was arrested Tuesday on child molestation charges.
Indiana State Police arrested Michael Allen Richardson, 31, after a four-day investigation, according to a news release.
ISP said officers began investigating on May 10 after an employee from a Harrison County school called the Indiana Department of Child Services to report suspected child sexual abuse of a student.
As part of the investigation, a sexual assault forensic exam was conducted at a local hospital, along with a forensic interview at a local child advocacy center.
Police obtained a search warrant for a home in Hardinsburg, but did not disclose what was found.
Investigators believe Richardson engaged in illegal sexual contact with a child.
A warrant for Richardson's arrest was served Tuesday at his home in Hardinsburg. He was taken to the Washington County Jail in Salem, Indiana, on charges of child molestation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
