Indiana State Police said on Saturday about 6:30 p.m., a trooper was stopped conducting traffic patrol on southbound Interstate 65 north of Sellersburg when he saw a blue Jeep Cherokee, clocking it at 115 mph in a 70 mph zone.

ISP said the alleged abuse happened on Aug. 2 in Washington County.

He is being held in the Johnson County Jail, and is expected to be transferred to Jackson County to appear in court.

37-year-old Abel Martinez was arrested in Jefferson County, Texas this week. 

Anderson was arrested Oct. 31, 2023, exactly 41 years to the date of Smith's killing, and has been held at the Jackson County Jail.

He is being held at the Bartholomew County Jail in Indiana.

Police are still investigating, and ask anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or has any information about this case to contact ISP.

According to ISP, officers tried to stop the fleeing driver multiple times before he came to a stop on an off-ramp on I-65.
