LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana man is behind bars after leading police on a chase that ended in Spencer County.Â
Indiana State Police said around 11 p.m. Wednesday the Spencer County Sheriff's Office got a call about someone stealing lawnmowers from a home in Dale, Indiana. Police responded to the home, but didn't locate a suspect.
Crawford County Sheriff's Office then located the suspected vehicle on Interstate 64 near the 86-mile marker off-ramp. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but he ran from police. ISP Troopers deployed stop sticks, hitting the left side tires, but the car continued eastbound on the interstate.Â
Deputies with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office deployed stop sticks again, hitting the car's remaining tires. The car continued until it stopped at the 100-mile marker on eastbound I-64.Â
Corey Tomlinson, 36, of Clarksville, was arrested and is being held in the Spencer County Jail. Tomlinson is charged with several felonies including resisting law enforcement with motor vehicle causing serious bodily injury, battery on law enforcement causing serious injury, auto theft and criminal mischief. Tomlinson also has three felony warrants out of Oldham County.
Police said a Harrison County sheriff's deputy was injured during the pursuit and was taken to a local hospital for injuries to his hand.
