LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of things to do and see across Kentuckiana.

Here are a selection of events, markets, concerts and more happening Friday, Feb. 21 to Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025.

2025 USA Gymnastics Winter Cup 

The USA Gymnastics Winter Cup is being held this weekend in Louisville, and features two Paris Olympians.

The events kick off Friday with the senior men, followed by senior women and the elite team cup set for Saturday. Sunday will conclude with the Nastia Liukin Cup, junior women, and a second day of junior and senior men.

It's being held at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville. 

Paris Olympic medalists Hezly Rivera and Frederick Richard are among the athletes registered to make their 2025 competitive debuts at USA Gymnastics’ 2025 Winter Cup.

Organizers said fields will feature Olympic and World medalists along with the country’s top junior elite and Level 10 gymnasts. For more information and tickets, click here. 

Kentucky Flea Market Spring Fling

It’s one of the largest flea markets in the country, and this weekend the Kentucky Expo Center will be taken over by thousands of people wanting the best deals.

The Kentucky Flea Market Spring Fling will be set up in the South Wing of the Kentucky Expo Center starting Friday, Feb. 21, through Sunday, Feb. 23.

Explore more than 800 booths with bargains and deals on everything from antiques, collectibles and electronics, to clothing, accessories, arts and crafts, and more. Organizers said this year there will also be a $5 and under overstock sale. 

The flea market has been a Louisville tradition for over 50 years, and typically happens more than once a year.

Admission is free, but parking costs $15. You can get a $7.50 rebate/cash back with any purchase. The flea market runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Engineering Days 

Engineering is everywhere: from rockets flying to Mars to systems filtering the water you drink.

Build your own engineering skills and meet the professionals who imagine, design, and create the world around us at Engineering Days – all free with your regular Kentucky Science Center admission.

This gives guests the opportunity to interact with partners and practitioners as they "showcase their own real-world experiences."

The experience runs Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JCPS Robo Rumble

The JCPS Technology Division's annual robotics competition, Robo Rumble, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 22 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Ballard High School.

About 150 teams of students from 30 JCPS schools and a few others will be using robots they built to show off their skills in multiple categories/competitions.

Participants will showcase their skills in the SumoBot Competition, RCX LEGO Robot Challenge and the Sphero Hero storytelling challenge. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The annual competition is sponsored by the Kentucky Derby Festival.

Bourbon Classic

Bourbon enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and anyone in between can find something to enjoy amid multiple events happening as part of the Bourbon Classic this weekend.

The Bourbon Classic began Wednesday, Feb. 19 but has multiple events that run through Saturday evening.

On Friday, Feb. 21 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. there's the Bourbon Classic Cocktail and Culinary Challenge that pits master bartenders with an acclaimed chef and sponsor distillery at the Kentucky International Convention Center.

Each team will compete for "best cocktail," "best small plate," and "best pairing." Attendees will get to sample each cocktail and small plate while voting on their favorite.

On Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the convention center is also the Bourbon University, Bourbon Classic TASTE. This includes an evening with discussions, demos and tasting. You'll also get to sample tastings from distillers and dishes from The Kitchen Table.
