LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Yum! Brands will relocate around 100 corporate employees in Louisville to Texas, the company announced Tuesday.
Yum! Brands and the KFC Foundation will keep its corporate offices in Louisville. Taco Bell and Habit Burger & Grill will remain headquartered in Irvine, California.
But the decision means some KFC U.S. corporate office employees currently in Louisville will relocate to the KFC and Pizza Hut Global headquarters in Plano, Texas. Remote employees will also be asked to relocate to the campus where their work happens.
"These changes position us for sustainable growth and will help us better serve our customers, employees, franchisees and shareholders," David Gibbs, Yum! Brands' chief executive officer, said in a news release Tuesday. "Ultimately, bringing more of our people together on a consistent basis will maximize our unrivaled culture and talent as a competitive advantage. I’m confident this is another important step in growing our iconic restaurant brands globally."
According to a news release, around 100 KFC U.S. corporate employees will relocate over the next six months. The relocation of 90 remote positions will happen over the next 18 months. Yum! Brands said employees will receive relocation and transition support.
Yum! Brands also announced a commitment to providing a $1 million endowment to the College of Business at the University of Louisville to fund Yum! sponsored scholarships for students throughout Kentucky, along with further support of the Yum! Center for Global Franchise Excellence.
