LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — National Dog Day may have been Wednesday, but the celebration continued into the weekend at Club K9.
The Taylorsville Road dog park hosted a day for dogs and their owners Saturday, bringing together local vendors, games, food and plenty of four-legged friends.
The Kentucky Humane Society also stopped by with several puppies looking for homes.
For Club K9 co-owner Marilyn Parker, the event is about bringing people and their pets together.
"The dogs make friends and the people make friends," Parker said. "We’ve got groups of people that have met up here that just come up here to hang out, and they leave and go hang out at other places."
Attendees also had the chance to vote for 12 finalists in Club K9’s calendar contest.
