LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Fourth Street was shut down Sunday so people could ditch their cars and enjoy some fitness in the great outdoors.

For the third year in a row, downtown Louisville hosted CycLOUvia.

The street was shut down from Main Street to just south of Broadway for residents and visitors to bike, walk or skateboard through the area.

Several local businesses not typically open on Sunday were open to highlight the city's arts and cultural attractions.

"The Bardstown Road event is very popular and in the last few years since COVID we've been having one downtown at the beginning of the summer so historically we've been on Main Street and we moved it to Fourth Street this year just to sort of shake it up and remind everyone why our downtown is so great and beautiful," event participant Jason Button said.

CycLOUvia started in the Highlands in 2012 and has spread to other areas of the city, including Main Street in downtown Louisville, Goss Avenue, West Broadway and Frankfort Avenue.
