LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Patriotic kids were treated to free ice cream on July 4.

The Dairy Del on Shelby Street in Louisville gave free ice cream cones to children who could recite the pledge of allegiance. It was not necessary to get all the words right. 

"They just have to attempt," said Dairy Del's Martha Waltman.

All kids 12 and younger were invited to participate in the annual event.
