LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Families celebrated the new year in an educational way in downtown Louisville.

On Sunday, families gathered at the Kentucky Science Center on West Main Street for a "Noon Year's" celebration. Kids of all ages enjoyed many activities like interactive story-telling and hands-on scientific activities before counting down to noon. There was even an electromagnetic spectrum for families to check out.

The day gave parents of younger children the chance to ring in the new year without staying up late.

"This is definitely a great day to celebrate the New Year without having to push any bed times," Ginny Hoyt, Manager of Programs and Partner Engagement, said.

In the upcoming new year, the Kentucky Science Center will offer several programs including Dog Days, engineering days and a day that focuses on how the human body works.
