LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- French Lick Resort's infamous gingerbread house is back for the holiday season.

With 600 pounds of powdered sugar and 4 pounds of ginger, the gingerbread house started to take shape with several months of planning. The first batch was baked all the way back in February, and the staff has been hard at work ever since.

This year, the house is split up into two sides, unlike previous years when it has been one big structure. One side features Santa's Workshop with tools and toys - while the other side is Mrs. Claus' bakery.

The shingles themselves took an entire month to perfect, making it the most time consuming part of building the gingerbread house according to the culinary staff.

The 700lb. house will be on display through Jan. 6 on the upper level of the Events Center, so be sure to go out to see, and smell, the masterpiece.
