LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools will host two community events this weekend in an effort to provide support and resources to families.
JCPS Family Resource and Youth Service centers are hosting a community baby shower on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 10 a.m. to noon at McFerran Preparatory Academy.
All expectant mothers, or those who have had babies in the past year, are invited for food, fun and resources. Appointments are not needed.
The district's Clothing Assistance Program will host a giveaway event, also on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new building on West Jefferson Street.
More than 100 families have made appointments to get clothing, toys, toiletries and other essentials. Registration for the giveaway was required in advance.
