LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Fans won't be able to stay in their seats when two legendary acts join forces for a concert in Louisville this summer.
In a news release Tuesday, the KFC Yum! Center announced that Lionel Richie's Sing A Song All Nigh Long tour with special guests Earth, Wind & Fire will perform Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
Many audiences know Lionel Richie as a host of "American Idol" but he has sold more than 125 million albums, was inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and received a Kennedy Center Honor. He also won the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song by the Library of Congress.
Richie rose to fame as a lead singer of Motown legends, The Commodores, which produced hits including "Easy," "Sail On" and "Three Times a Lady." He's best known for solo hits including "Hello," "Truly," "Dancing on the Ceiling" and "Stuck On You."
Earth, Wind & Fire cemented their impact on popular music with hits including "Let's Groove," "September," "Boogie Wonderland" and "Shining Star." The band has sold 100 million albums, won nine GRAMMY Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Tickets for the concert in Louisville begin presales on Wednesday, January 17 at 10 a.m. Sales to the general public begin Friday, January 19 at 10 a.m. at the KFC Yum! Center box office and ticketmaster.com.Â
