LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Â Louisville Free Public Library is celebrating the city's immigrant and refugee population with a new series in November.
The library is partnering with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, Catholic Charities of Louisville and Americana World Community Center for four free events featuring Cuban culture.
The History of Cuba will be hosted at the Main Library on 301 York Street on Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. According to a news release, University of Kentucky Professor of History and African American and Africana Studies Devyn Benson will explore the precedents, processes, and legacies of the 1959 Cuban Revolution.Â
The Southwest Regional branch at 9725 Dixie Highway will hold the Dance of Cuban on Nov. 9 at 6:30 p.m. The evening will include a dance showcasing salsa, rumba, mambo and more. No partner or experience is required for attendees.
The Cuisine of Cuba is scheduled for Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Northeast Regional library on 15 Bellevoir Circle. The program will showcase Cuban cooking traditions. Space is limited and registration is required by clicking here.
The Music of Cuba is planned at South Central Regional branch on 7300 Jefferson Boulevard on Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
