HOME REHAB NEAR CHURCHILL

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A home in south Louisville got some free repairs thanks to a local nonprofit on Wednesday.

New Directions Repair Affair teamed up with Churchill Downs team members to do basic home repairs at houses on Iowa Avenue and South 6th Street near the horse racing track. It was part of a one-day work blitz to celebrate 150 days until the 150th Kentucky Derby.

Volunteers went around to multiple homes to complete a variety of repair projects.

New Directions Repair Affair has helped to organize teams of coworkers, community members or friends to repair homes of elderly or disabled homeowners for the past 30 years. The nonprofit typically repairs around 200 homes each year.
