LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville restaurant has transformed into a pop-up shelter and soup kitchen for people in need after a winter storm.
The storm swept through the region on Sunday, dropping nearly nine inches of snow, sleet, and freezing rain on Louisville. The weight of ice has caused tree limbs to snap, taking down power lines and leaving thousands in the dark.
Louisville StrEatery said it's set up as a shelter for an overnight stay, warming center or just a place to hang out.
The restaurant has beds, food and drinks, warm clothing, such as hats and socks, and board games to keep you occupied.
The StrEatery has been set up as a shelter since Sunday. The restaurant is also accepting donations to help out. It has links to send monetary donations to on its Facebook page, here.
Louisville StrEatery is located at 304 West Woodlawn Avenue in Louisville. That's in the city's Beechmont neighborhood, not far from Southern Parkway and the airport.
