LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some Louisville Metro Council members are asking for community input on improvements that should be made at Auburndale Park.

Ideas can be shared at a community event being held Friday, Aug. 1, from 5-8 p.m. at the park, located at 7260 Southside Drive.

With renovation plans in the works, councilmembers want improvements to reflect the needs and hopes of residents.

"This is about turning an underused space into a more welcoming space for the communities we serve," Councilman Khalil Batshon, R-District 25, said in a news release. "We hope residents will join us and share their ideas for the future of this park."

Residents and those who use the park are also welcome to weigh in through an online survey by clicking here.

The event will also feature live music, food trucks and raffles in addition to the feedback session.

The four-acre park sits at the intersection of Southside Drive and Palatka Road. It currently has a picnic shelter, picnic table, playground and tennis court.
