LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The brand new Jeffersontown Amphitheater will host its inaugural free summer concert series Thursday. 

City leaders cut the ribbon on the new building Wednesday before the first-ever concert will take place at the new amphitheater.

Soul Circus will kickoff the J-Town Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Amphitheater will host free concerts on the second Thursday of every month through September, with bonus shows on July 3-4, featuring JD Shelburne and The Crashers. For a full list of shaows, click here.

Construction on the $4.8 million amphitheater finished in January, but crews spent the past six months finalizing the space for the summer concert series, adding an additional 350 parking spaces, according to a news release.

The music venue is at the intersection of Ruckriegel Parkway and Old Taylorsville Road.
