LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new $4.8 million amphitheater will open this month in Jeffersontown, the next phase to expand the offerings of Veterans Memorial Park.
The site off Taylorsville Road was transformed over the last three and a half years from an old wastewater treatment plant into a live music venue with space to accommodate 1,500 guests, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on the amphitheater site in June 2022, part of a $7.4 million expansion to the park. The amphitheater is part of the second phase of the Veterans Memorial Park Master Plan. Phase I included Veterans Memorial Plaza and Freedom Wall and an all-accessible playground, all of which was completed by early 2019.
“The Jeffersontown Amphitheater reflects our city’s commitment to investing in spaces that bring people together,” Jeffersontown Mayor Carol Pike said in a news release. “This venue will serve as a cultural hub for residents and visitors alike, supporting local businesses, enhancing tourism, and creating unforgettable shared experiences for years to come.”
Joey Wagner — owner of JW Hospitality Group, which will operate the amphitheater — said they've already started taking bookings for 2026.
