LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man arrested in connection to a Christmas Day shooting in east Louisville was in court Monday.Â
According to court documents, Louisville Police arrested 20-year-old Angel Guerrero on Sunday, charging him with assault.
On Dec. 25, LMPD officers were called to the 4900 block of Heathmoore Court just before 10 p.m. on a reported shooting, department spokesperson Aaron Ellis said at the time. That's off Westport Road, not far from Ford's Kentucky Truck Plant.
According to the citation, Guerrero was "showing off his handgun while intoxicated" and fired a round in an unknown direction. Then, Guerrero pointed the gun at the victim, hitting him in the chest and arm.
EMS transported the man to University of Louisville Hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. Guerrero's citation said he and the man are roommates.Â
A judge set a $10,000 bond during Guerrero's arraignment on Jan. 5. His next court date was set for Jan. 13.Â
