LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kids at a Louisville park now have a new playground to enjoy.

On Thursday, Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, Councilwoman Josie Raymond, and other community leaders cut the ribbon on the completion of the new playground at Klondike Park, which is off Mid Dale Lane not far from Klondike Lane and Hikes Lane.

The new playground features new slides, an ADA accessible swing, a merry-go-round, a fitness circuit, turf climbing mounds and an inline rope swing.

The park is located right behind Klondike Lane Elementary School, and some students were among the first to test out the new equipment.

"I want more parks like this because it's so fun and I like to go to parks," one student said.

Last year, the city council asked the community for ideas on how to improve the park. This project was a collaborative effort between the Metro Council, Louisville Parks & Recreation and Jefferson County Public Schools.
