PRP Fire station - 9.27.25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville fire department is celebrating 75 years of service and dedication.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, Pleasure Ridge Park Fire, which serves PRP, Valley Station, Lake Dreamland, Dixie Suburban and South Dixie communities, celebrated that major milestone.

The celebration took part at the department's training center on Greenwood Road near the boat dock.

There was lots of free pizza, burgers, hot dogs and face painting.

The special Rope Rescue team performed some rope rescue skills from the training tower.

"It was a great day to come together, see a lot of faces that we haven't seen before — a lot of our retirees and current members brought in a lot of memorabilia, which is inside, and it was just a great day to come meet everybody and meet some of the community," PRP Fire Chief Jason Meiman said.

Some of that memorabilia was on display, showing achievements and photos from all the way back to the 1950s.
