LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- YMCA of Greater Louisville is accepting job applications for lifeguards this summer.
The lifeguard positions give students and young adults the opportunity for part-time work. Training will be offered at Clark County Family YMCA, Floyd County Family YMCA, YMCA at Norton Commons, Oldham County Family YMCA, Republic Bank Foundation YMCA, and Southeast Family YMCA locations, according to a news release.

According to a news release, the YMCA Lifeguard Certification course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. The course includes safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, legal responsibilities, pool maintenance basics and information on how to get a job as a lifeguard.
The YMCA hires lifeguards year-round.
