LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Runners and walkers of all levels can gear up for the Kentucky Derby Festival Marathon and miniMarathon this week.

The festival’s free training kickoff is Thursday, Jan. 8, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Museum.

Participants can pick up a 15-week training schedule, meet Norton Sports Health experts and physicians, and check out the latest race gear.

Training officially begins Jan. 10 and will take place weekly until race day. The program is free, but registration is required.

The Kentucky Derby Festival’s marathon program is designed for all experience levels, from first-time walkers to seasoned runners.
