Instead of accommodating thousands of out of town guests as usual during Derby week, most local hotels are either closed or nearly empty.
The Galt House Hotel, an iconic and historic brand in downtown Louisville, has committed $3.5 million to the University of Louisville’s Cardinal Athletic Fund.
Louisville’s biggest hotel company still hopes to bring back more than 200 workers from furlough in the next few months, amid a slow recovery for the one of the industries most battered by the pandemic. But some jobs aren't coming back.
