Humana Inc. will honor its late co-founder and former longtime CEO David Jones Sr. with a $2 million donation the Louisville parks system Jones helped establish, a sculpture by famed Louisville artist Ed Hamilton and a plaque that will be placed in front of the company’s headquarters building at 500 W. Main Street.
Shares of Louisville-based Humana Inc. have surged this week following a report that Congressional leaders have reached a deal to repeal an Obamacare tax that is set to cost the company more than $1 billion in 2020.
Louisville-based Humana Inc.’s pre-tax profit jumped 68%, to $3.4 billion, in 2019 as the Medicare-focused insurer added 523,000 seniors to its bread-and-butter business, Medicare Advantage.
