Yarmuth, a Louisville Democrat who represents Kentucky's 3rd Congressional District, said Tuesday he won't seek reelection next year. He has served in Congress since 2007.
When Yarmuth was in Louisville last week talking about his decision to step away, he said not to rule out his son Aaron Yarmuth as someone who could run for office.
Kentucky will receive more than $880 million in federal funding to improve and build roads and bridges around the state.
