LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a 29-year-old man who died in a single-car crash early Sunday morning on Shelbyville Road.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner's office, that man has been identified as Ryan Baughman, of Danville.
Officers with LMPD's Eighth Division responded to the crash on Shelbyville Road near North Hurstbourne Parkway around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said in a statement.
Investigators determined that the crash occurred when the driver of a passenger vehicle headed east in the left lane of Shelbyville Road, "drifted over into the right lane of traffic, going off the roadway into a ditch," Mitchell said.
"As a result, the vehicle began to roll and struck a tree," he continued.
That driver was identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's office Sunday afternoon as Baughman. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Mitchell. No one else was in the car at the time of the crash, police said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
