LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle crash that closed some lanes of Interstate 71 North in east Louisville for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to the crash on I-71 North approaching Interstate 265 around 3:15 p.m., Louisville Metro Police Spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said.
Once on scene, police found two semis and a passenger vehicle that had crashed, blocking the left and center lanes.
Investigators don't know what caused the crash yet. At least two people from the passenger vehicle were transported to a local hospital, one of them in critical condition, Mitchell said.
Because of the severity of the victim's injuries, LMPD's Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
No other injuries were reported, according to Mitchell.
Several lanes of I-71 North were closed for hours while crews cleared the scene.
