LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Yum! Brands plans to move 550 employees to a new headquarters in downtown Louisville.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, the restaurant giant based in Louisville will sign a 10-year lease at PNC Tower at 5th and Main streets, the second-largest office building in the city.

"Our new offices will support the flexibility, creativity, and collaboration of our unrivaled culture and talent, which makes Yum! unique," Chris Turner, CEO of Yum! Brands, said in a news release Thursday. "We're grateful for the warm welcome and partnership from Mayor Greenberg's office and the Louisville Economic Development Alliance as we make this move downtown, and we're excited for the opportunities that lie ahead in the next chapter of Yum! Brands in Louisville."

For decades, Yum! Brands was headquartered on an 28-acre property off Gardiner Lane. Earlier this year, the company donated the building to Jefferson County Public Schools.

The company announced in February plans to relocate around 100 corporate jobs in Louisville to the company's Plano, Texas office, combining the KFC Louisville headquarters with Pizza Hut's headquarters. In early June, the company gave employees in Louisville a September deadline to decide if they will relocate to Plano.

After renovations are done to its new space in the PNC Tower, Yum! Brands  employees are expected to move in late-2026.

"We're thrilled to have worked with Yum! Brands to secure its future in Louisville for years to come by locating its corporate office and employees in the heart of our city," Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said in a news release. "I appreciate Yum!'s commitment to Louisville and look forward to welcoming these employees downtown to enjoy the fantastic amenities, restaurants, parks, entertainment venues, museums and so much more - it's great to see downtown bustling again with businesses, employees and visitors."
