LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 15-year-old walked the stage and graduated with Ballard High School's senior class of 2025 Saturday.

Ruth Bomnsa is the youngest in her class at Ballard, and she's also near the top of it as she's recognized as a high academic achiever.

Through all of her academic success, she's also had to learn a new country. She's only been in the United States for three-and-a-half years after previously living in Cameroon in Africa.

She said she loved school and hopes she is a role model for other students.

"It feels amazing and it doesn't really feel different to be because I already went from ninth to 12th so it felt pretty normal to me because I have been there from the start," Bomnsa said.

The graduation ceremony was held Saturday afternoon at Freedom Hall.
