LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two Bullitt Central High School sophomores were killed in a crash early Sunday morning.
According to Bullitt County Sheriff Marcus Laytham, Bullitt County 911 received a call at 5:22 a.m. that a car struck a home on Highway 44 near Proctor Lane. Both the vehicle and home were fully engulfed when the Bullitt County Sheriff's office, Mount Washington and Shepherdsville Fire Department arrived on scene.
An official with Bullitt County Schools confirmed that two Bullitt Central students, both sophomores, were killed in the crash. There was no one inside the home.Â
School officials also say students will have access to a counselor, but with schools closing amid the spread of COVID-19, it may be a phone number for students to call.
The coroner's office has not released any details about the students' identities.
