LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The sidewalks along the 2nd Street Bridge are closed until further notice.
One sidewalk closed in December 2024. Friday morning, officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the other side, headed into Kentucky from Indiana, would also be closed until further notice.
Transportation officials say an inspection found the steel beams supporting the sidewalks are deteriorating. However, the bridge is still safe for cars to use because the sidewalk and road structures are separate.
