The driver of the Blazer continued north on US 31 until running a red light and hitting a pickup truck with two people inside at the intersection with US 31, Hamburg Pike and Appleleaf Lane.
The Blazer caught fire after the crash, and the driver had to be pulled out as it was quickly engulfed in flames. The two people in the truck were also pulled from their vehicle because of how close they were to the burning SUV.
All three were taken to UofL Hospital in Louisville, but Huls said they are expected to survive.
He said the driver, who has not yet been identified, will likely face charges after he is released from the hospital.
