LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 37-year-old man was identified Wednesday as the victim of a fatal train crash earlier this month in southwest Jefferson County.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office said Phillip Smith Jr. died after being hit by a train around 9:30 p.m. July 7 along the tracks near 13401 Dixie Highway, which is just south of Pendleton Road.
Louisville Metro Police said that night when officers arrived on scene, they found a man lying on the tracks.
The coroner ruled the manner of death an accident.
