LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man is facing federal drug and gun charges after authorities say they seized what could amount to millions of potentially lethal doses of fentanyl from his home.
Police arrested 35-year-old Darrell Malone on May 7 following a DEA-led search last week at a residence in Louisville, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky.
During the search, agents said they recovered more than 400 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with ecstasy pills, cash and equipment used to package narcotics.
Authorities also seized three handguns, including one that was reported stolen.
Police said Malone is prohibited from possessing firearms because of a prior felony conviction.Â
If convicted, Malone faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and could receive life behind bars.
Malone's arraignment is scheduled for May 27 at 2:30 p.m.
