LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night in Louisville’s Buechel neighborhood.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded around 10:33 p.m. to the 4600 block of South Hurstbourne Lane on a report of a collision involving a pedestrian.
A preliminary investigation found an adult man was attempting to cross South Hurstbourne Lane from south to north, outside of a marked crosswalk, when he was struck by a passenger vehicle.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of the car initially left the scene and returned.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. No additional information has been released.
